Day 01 Arrive Delhi
Arrive into the Indian capital where you are transferred to your hotel.
Day 02 Delhi
Morning at leisure. This afternoon's sightseeing takes you to the wide, tree-lined avenues of New Delhi. Visit Humayun's Tomb and Qutab Minar. Drive along Rajpath past the Parliament House, the Presidential Palace and Secretariat Buildings.
Day 03 Delhi
This morning tour Old Delhi. Dating back to the Moghul period, Old Delhi, formerly known as Shahjahanabad, is the former Moghul capital. Visit Raj Ghat the site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated and the Red Fort. Finish at the vibrant Jama Masjid mosque with time to wander through Old Delhi's bazaars.
Day 04 Delhi-Agra
Following breakfast travel by road to Agra, visiting the tomb of the great Moghul Emperor Akbar at Sikandra enroute. This afternoon visit the magnificent Taj Mahal at sunset, India's most famous monument. This glistening marble tomb was built for Shah Jahan's beloved Mumtaz Mahal. You also visit the Red Fort, a vast pale pink sandstone complex beside the Yamuna River.
Day 05 Agra-Jaipur
Visit the Taj Mahal again at sunrise when the morning light bathes the marble dome and minarets in a soft light. Leave Agra and drive to the 16th century sandstone fortress of Fatehpur Sikri, a well-preserved Moghul palace city. Continue your drive to Jaipur, arriving late afternoon.
Day 06 Jaipur
A short drive out of Jaipur through rugged countryside takes you to the Amber Fort, a magnificent fortress palace. Travel up the hillside by elephant, through the gates in time-honored fashion. This afternoon, explore the sights of Jaipur with visits to the City Palace, the Palace of the Winds and the Jantar Mantar Observatory.
Day 07 Jaipur-Nimaj
This morning transfer to the railway station for the Shatabdi Express train to Ajmer. Continue your journey by road to Nimaj and the Rajasthani tented camp of Chhatra Sagar. Surrounded by lush fields of wheat, cotton and chillies, Chhatra Sagar is located on the edge of a hundred year old reservoir on the Nimaj Estate. Chhatra Sagar
Day 08 Nimaj
Today explore this former hunting lodge estate on a morning nature walk. Time to relax before embarking on an afternoon jeep safari to a nearby village. Chhatra Sagar
Day 09 Nimaj-Jodhpur
Today travel by road to the blue city of Jodhpur, situated on the edge of the great Thar Desert. The remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 10 Jodhpur
Jodhpur was the traditional seat of the Marwar rulers - today's visits include the imposing Mehrangarh Fortress, which perches in stately grandeur above the city and Mandore, the ancient capital of the state of Marwar. This afternoon visit Bishnoi villages where you learn of their interesting philosophy for living.
Day 11 Jodhpur-Delwara
Today drive via the famous Jain Temples of Ranakpur to the Aravali Hills. Here your accommodation is the imposing 18th century palace retreat of Devi Garh. This evening visit the Eklingji Temple to witness the Aarti ceremony.
Day 12 Delwara-Udaipur
Travel to one of the most picturesque royal cities in Rajasthan, Udaipur.
Day 13 Udaipur
Udaipur, in contrast to other Rajasthani cities, is green and lush with lakes and hills abounding. This morning explore the City Palace complex, a marvel of inlaid work, mirrored walls and marble balconies. Visit the lovely Sahelion-ki-Bari Gardens and the Crystal Gallery Museum. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 14 Depart Udaipur
Today transfer to the airport for your onward flight (B).
